The spiral is a sacred symbol representing the journey and change of life as it unfolds, taking a labyrinth-like passage that leads to the source. The spiral symbol can represent the consciousness of nature beginning from its center expanding outwardly and connectivity with the divine. This piece also stands out as a unique style and shape for creating beautiful art.
In this class, you will start with a precut spiral shape and decorate it with colorful stained glass scrap and/or glass & ceramic tile. Feel free to bring your own inclusions to really personalize this piece.
Saturday, you will create your design and execute it with glass and tile. Sunday we will grout, clean, polish, and attach hanging hardware so it’s ready to hang on your wall when you get home!
Since everyone’s artistic process and timing is different, anyone who has not finished gluing on Saturday will go home with tools and materials to finish on your own, so you’re ready for grouting on Sunday. Feel free to peruse Pinterest for ideas that appeal to you, I’ll assist you in selecting a suitable design in class.
All tools and materials provided, no experience necessary. Ages 10-15 with accompanying adult.
