Painting with Glass

In the fall of 2022, I went to southern CA to do a mosaic intensive with Mia Tavonatti, a truly exceptional painter and mosaic artist. Her mosaic work, known as “painting with glass,” is a very exacting and rigorous approach to mosaic art, and these pieces are the result of my year-long exploration of this genre. I dove in head first and devoted myself to it exclusively for a time, but I ultimately came to the conclusion that I wasn’t having any fun, and I was not enjoying my time in my studio. I’m very happy that I took that journey because, in itself, it was a fruitful one, but it also helped me, FINALLY, discover where my true passion lies (see my Metal & Glass and Multimedia pages).
